I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:18
As SPC presses on during through these challenging times, we have set up this page as a clearinghouse for news and resources for our continuing ministry and mission.
UPDATE ON INDOOR SERVICE • SUNDAY, JULY 5 AT 10:00 AM
We will be worshiping inside this coming Sunday morning for the first time in three and a half months. We will not be ‘back to normal’ by any means but it will be a beginning towards normalization of our church life on Sunday mornings. The Deacons are taking every measure to ensure the safety of those who are coming into the building on Sunday.
This Sunday you can park in any lot but the only entrance to the building will be the main entrance doors on the Buford Road side of the church.
When you arrive your forehead temperature will be quickly and painlessly taken, masks will be required (spare masks will be available at the welcome desk – along with hand sanitizer); seats will be distanced six feet apart; and bathrooms will be available.
We have seating this week for about 160 people (between the Sanctuary and the Fellowship Hall). Each room will have a worship leader and the preacher for the morning will preach in both rooms (although not at the same time!). CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP.
At the end of the service the Deacons will lead us out by different doors. For those who want to there will be plenty of opportunity to catch up in the parking lot as we have in the recent outdoor services (all at a social distance, of course!).
These continue to be trying times for our nation and our world. We are trying to make a safe place for you to worship and to do our part in helping our Commonwealth beat the virus. We hope to see you either at the church on Sunday morning, or with the church for our regular online service and Sunday School class.
NON-WORSHIP USE OF THE BUILDING
- At present there will be no inside use of the building
- The front porch and parking lot is available for use for groups by reservation only with the church office at least a week in advance. (For those requesting use, please email Lynn Liles at least one week in advance with date and times of the group use. A confirmation will be sent once the request is reviewed and approved.)
- Registration forms will be available, together with registration for services, on the website.
- When we return to in-sanctuary worship, there will be designated rooms available for groups again on a registered, first-come, first-served basis at the discretion of the deacons.

Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited Me in, I needed clothes and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you came to visit Me.'”Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and invite You in, or needing clothes and clothe You? When did we see You sick or in prison and go to visit You?’ “The King will reply,’Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.’
