As women we are metaphorically “setting tables” in a thousand different ways.

We are preparing and serving and doing, all the time. But scripture tells us that Jesus has set the table for us!  He has already accomplished what even our best efforts cannot, and he tells us to come and have a seat.  In women’s ministry here at SPC, we want to practice sitting at the table God has set before us. We can come as we are, partaking in the finished work of Christ, as we let His grace minister to our weary souls.  And we want to bring that grace into our families, our neighborhoods, our communities, and our workplaces – inviting the women around us to come and have a seat at the table that Jesus has set.

Isaiah 25:6-9

On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
the best of meats and the finest of wines.
On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears
from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace
from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken.

 In that day they will say,

“Surely this is our God;
we trusted in him, and he saved us.
This is the Lord, we trusted in him;
let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

We love God’s Word and it’s our aim to grow in biblical literacy. As we understand the Scriptures, we will know and understand God himself, and by knowing him we’ll know and understand ourselves better too.  Our Bible studies are inductive, believing that God has given each of us, with the help of His Spirit, the ability to understand his word, apply it to our lives and be transformed by it.
Women’s ministry programming and events open the door to deeper relationships among SPC’s women. We aim to be a community in which everyone is honored, all are cared for deeply, and everyone is honest about life’s ups and downs. As the way to a deeper relationship with God is often through seasons of suffering, we’re willing to admit that we we sometimes struggle. Each one of us has experienced longing, loneliness and lamentation from time to time. But because of Christ, we have hope. And because of Christ, we can celebrate life’s joys, and shoulder life’s deepest pains, together.

Women of all ages and stages meet for Bible study and fellowship at SPC most weeks on Tuesday mornings from 9:45 to 11:45 and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00. In both cases, the lessons and relational teaching styles are the same. This spring we are continuing our study of Luke’s Gospel. The bulk of our time together is spent in small group discussion and prayer. For many women, these Bible Studies function as a Community Group, their place at SPC to love and be loved.  Questions?
