Summer Book Discussion Groups
Messy Beautiful Friendship by Christine Hoover. We long for deep and lasting friendships, but they can be challenging to make and keep. Our expectations of ourselves and our friends can often leave us feeling insecure and isolated. Come discover a biblical vision for friendship that allows for the messiness of our lives and the realities of our schedules. Lead by SPC lay counselor, Lori Dalton, come join a group of women as we are reminded that friendship is a gift from God and we learn how we can give and receive it with grace, gratitude, and joy. We will meet on Thursdays from 9:30-11:00am from July 1st through August 26th at the church. Contact Lori at firstname.lastname@example.org or 804-887-0119.
And Yet Undaunted: Embraced by the goodness of God in the Chaos of Life by Paula Rinehart and Connally Gilliam. Life is Hard, We often find ourselves walking through stories that don’t feel like they should be ours. And yet here we are. We wonder where our good God is in the midst of it all. But we are not left without hope. In fact-we have the greatest hope of all. Through vulnerable stories and rich insight, Paula Rinehart and Connally Gilliam point to the Larger Story that carries all the anxiety, longing, and beauty we experience. The grand story of the gospel-what ought to be, what is, what can be, and what will be in Jesus Christ- Frames our every step. Discover renewed strength and joy in the middle of your ache… and the goodness of God that will give you the courage to remain yet undaunted. Join SPC Lay Counselor, Katherine Dowell in a 6 week study at Redemption Books. The dates 6/23, 6/30, 7/14, 7/21, 8/4, 8/11 from 7:00-8:30pm. Contact Katherine at email@example.com.
