What comes to your mind when the Holy Spirit is mentioned?
Read Acts 2:1-21
1. What evidences are presented here of the Holy Spirit in action?
2. What is the significance of people from all over the Mediterranean region hearing the disciples speak each in their own native languages?
3. What has the Spirit done in Your midst recently that has grabbed the attention of others? If nothing, why is that so?
4. How does Peter use Joel’s prophecy to explain what was happening?
5. Previously, in the Old Testament, God had acted by His Spirit through one or two key people at a time. How is this action of God’s Spirit new?
6. What should be the significance of this widespread action of the Spirit for how our church carries out its work?
7. PRAY Thank God for the gift of his Holy Spirit, and for the promise of the new creation both now and in the future. Bring to God anything and everything from which you need to be rescued right now: physical and spiritual threats, persistent sins, wrong attitudes, relationships which seem beyond repair, seemingly impossible situations. Praise him in advance for His answers.
