The gospel isn’t moral conformity, which is religion, nor is it self-discovery, which is secularism. It isn’t something which we do; rather, it’s something that has been done for us. It isn’t a divine rehabilitation program for us or the world. It is, rather, a finished work that was done on our behalf. It is the grace of God poured out on us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And it is our singular focus and engine of transformation.

Propaganda: The Gospel in Four Minutes

Listen! It’s the full story of life crushed into four minutes – the entirety of humanity in the palm of your hand, crushed into one sentence. Listen! It’s intense, right? “God…Our… Sins…Paying…Everyone…Life.”

Tim Keller: The Centrality of the Gospel

Richard Lovelace says that most people’s problems are just a failure to be oriented to the gospel–a failure to grasp and believe it through and through. All of us, to some degree, live around the truth of the gospel but do not “get” it. So the key to continual and deeper spiritual renewal and revival is the continual re-discovery of the gospel.
