Read Zechariah 14. If you find it confusing (you’re in good company) go ahead and reread it. Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Keep the facts of this text in mind as you come to Zechariah 14.
-What is the central theme of this chapter?
-How is ‘The Day of the Lord’ portrayed in this chapter? What details are given about it? Do you have an opinion about what ‘The Day of the Lord’ actually is?
-Does this chapter relate to other prophecies about end times? If so, how?
-How does this chapter impact our understanding of God’s sovereignty and power?
-Read verse 3 again. Do you usually think of Jesus as a warrior as He is described in this verse and throughout this chapter? Why or why not?
-What does it have to say about God’s stance against the rebellion and wickedness in the world? How should that impact our personal lives today?
-What message of hope does this chapter have for the protection and rescue of God’s people? Should this make an impact on the risks we take for the Kingdom of God in our daily lives? If so, how?
-Are there any other practical applications that you have from this text for your daily life?
