JOHN HILE
Stopping to reflect on the day is not easy. I told Mr B that I would contribute to the report for today. That was this morning when we were fresh. Now, late in the evening, it is more difficult to put the thoughts together. We have been busy meeting, moving about, getting to know the local mission team, and seeing the people of Tokyo. Stopping to consider the day – at least for me at the moment – is a shift that requires pause and refocusing. We are here to serve the MTW team this week with support as they complete preparations and conduct their 4th English Gospel Camp and do their larger work of growing the Setagaya Grace Church.
Today, we met with the Church staff to prepare for the camp and to participate in their weekly staff meeting. This meeting included prayer for individuals presented by name. These are people who have contact with the church but have not accepted Christ as their savior. These are people who generally are reluctant to admit any need and have almost no understanding of the rescue available to them. We are thankful for the commitment and work being done to prepare minds and hearts with knowledge and relationships for God to work and show His grace.
I conclude by asking for prayer for the local Church staff and their families.
