-What do you think is the key problem being addressed in this chapter? What does their question in verse 4 really reveal?
-List and explain what God says should concern the people in verses 8-10 (there are 4). What other Scripture texts speak to each of those?
-Rather than being concerned about those things, how did they respond? What is the four step progression?
-What consequence followed their conduct?
-What should we learn from Zechariah’s response to the question the people had about fasting?
-Have you ever just “gone through the motions”? Maybe you’re going through that now. Explain…What brought it about? What did it look like? How was it resolved?
-Spend the rest of the time in prayer for each other and the things discussed above.
