SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1.What is wisdom? How do you define it? Give an example where you used wisdom.
READ James 2:5-8
2. Where do Christians chiefly get wisdom from? Is it primarily from learning or experience or the handed down experience of others? What does James say here?
3. If we ask God for wisdom in a situation, what should we believe about our asking God for it? How might doubt creep in?
4. Doubt has been described as “having faith in two minds.” All of us are prone to this when we face a crisis. What has James told us already in verse 5 as an encouraging corrective for our prayers and thinking?
5. If you are struggling with something right now which requires wisdom from God and faith to believe He will give you what you need, share the struggle if you can with the group.
6. Ask the members of your group to pray for you relying on this promise. Ask people to read out Matthew 6:32, John 16:24, and Luke 12:32 as they encourage that the God who loves you – knows, hears and will generously give you the wisdom you need in your situation.
7. Close your time in prayer by praising Him and thanking Him for His love for His people.
