Read Acts 4:1-22 & John 14:16
-What is the context of the texts?
-What are your initial thoughts on the exclusive claims that Christianity holds? What has been your response to those that have disagreed with you or argued that that type of belief is antiquated and lacks inclusivity? Can we reconcile the exclusivity of John 14:6 with the idea of a loving and inclusive God?
-How is Peter’s statement in verse 12 significant?
-Read Psalm 118:22, How does Peter’s use of this text relate to Jesus’ identity and why is that important?
-Read John 14:6 again. Break it down into its parts. What does it mean that Jesus says these things about Himself?
-How does believing these things about Jesus impact your life and daily choices?
-What does the Acts 4 text have to teach us about our own boldness in sharing the Gospel? In what ways does Peter’s defense model the kind of faith and courage we should have in the face of opposition?
-The early church prayed for boldness rather than protection from persecution? Why is this and what does that have to say to us and today’s Church?
-Spend the remainder of your time together praying about the specific applications you discussed above.
