Read Philippians 2:1-11
-What are some wrong ideas that people have about humility? How would you define humility?
-How is Christ’s humility displayed in this passage? What other texts throughout Scripture illustrate what is displayed here?
-Take a moment to read Isaiah 53 and rejoice in the humility of Christ and His atoning work.
-Read 2:3 again. What are “selfish ambition” and “conceit” (often translated vain/empty glory? In what specific ways do you see those in your life? How does looking to Christ start to change those things?
-What specific actions can you make to start living out 2:3-11 in your worship? Home? Work? Community?
-What is the connection between Christ’s humility and our humility and what happens in verses 9-11?
-Spend the rest of the time in prayer for one another to cling more tightly and rejoice more fully in the humility of Christ. Take some time to pray specifically for the personal applications that were shared.
