Kume Goranson

I have had the privilege of serving at the Dornoch HBC for three years, and it was a joy to return again this year. As someone who did not have a relationship with Jesus until adulthood, I know the challenges of growing up without Christ in your home or your life. I have prayed that our work this week will plant seeds in the children’s hearts that will grow, and someday they will remember what they are learning with us.

On Wednesday Graham (my partner for the more theatrical comedic portions of HBC) impromptu challenged me to say our memory verse for the week: John 3:16. Even though I have heard that verse hundreds of times (including constantly this week), I found on the spot I could only recite it in the original KJV where I first learned it. Although I did not grow up in a church, I did go at various times with neighbors and friends, and I remember learning the Lord’s Prayer and John 3:16.  Maybe someday, one of little astronauts this week will still remember in 40+ years their version of John 3:16 and the Americans who visited.

See pics of us touring Inverness Castle; hanging out after having fish and chips; and our verse that we found on the side of a building today.
