It’s the end of the week and we’ve just finished Holiday Bible Club. This week has flown by and we can’t believe that it’s already over. The two of us have been working with kids with ages ranging from four to eight, and the most common thing we saw was that many of them had never attended HBC and knew little to nothing about God and the Bible.
Even so, as the week went on we got to see them grow, becoming more comfortable not only asking questions, but answering them too. It was crazy to hear how our classrooms lit up with conversation after today’s speaker (Pastor Al as Noah), and so encouraging when multiple kids asked for a Bible to take home.
Our Bible verse we helped the kids memorize was John 3:16 & 17, and it was wonderful to watch them practice the verse, write it, and even become confident enough to stand in front of the group and say it out loud.
This was the biggest turnout we’ve ever had at HBC, and while it was taxing sometimes, it was also an absolutely incredible act of God to witness. We are blessed to have been able to minister to these kids, and hope they’ll use what they’ve learned about God this week to work in the lives of the people around them. We are praying that they will come back next year or even volunteer at the club themselves, and that the Lord will draw them nearer to him during the time before we see them again.
