Today was day three at the women’s social work site. These past couple days have been so special. Going into this project I was pretty hesitant about this site, especially the part about having to have conversations with women and being around them all day. Little did I know I would have almost ten 8-14 year old girls as well as older women. I have had such an amazing opportunity to connect with these girls and women even if they don’t know what I’m saying and vice versa. Kaitlyn has been such a big help translating so that I could converse with them. A couple of the things that we have been able to do at my site are community oriented.

Tuesday I had the opportunity to write and lead a Bible study on Psalm 139:13 & 14. Then we tied in homemade play-dough to the word “formed” in the study. “Formed” is the theme we focused on in the message. Wednesday, the bible study I wrote the day before, Kaitlyn was able to teach the older women with. After the study we made soap, as well as cookies for the sale we had at the base for our team to buy from.

I have had such an amazing day today (Thursday) being able to reorganize the site and connect on a deeper level with the media team, and the facilities and maintenance team. After lunch we took a trip to the health site Cien Fuegos, where I was able to assist the medical team do ultrasounds and a pregnancy demonstration. That was such a great godly experience for me to see those babies in the womb. This first part of the project has really been so awesome to be able to work and connect with all the Dominican people and SI staff.
