It has been such a joy to be back at the preschool site for my second year. Being here again has reminded me how much I love the people and how much I missed my friends and all the kiddos. A typical day starts with about 30 minutes of playtime before we head outside to sing the national anthem. Then the older kids (ages 4–5) and younger kids (ages 2–3) split up for their different activities. This week, we’ve been learning about La Última Cena (the Last Supper), and it’s been so fun getting to teach the kids about it.
One of my favorite parts of being back has been catching up with my site leaders and hearing how their lives have changed over the past year. I’ve also had the chance to read Bible stories to the children in Spanish. It’s definitely been challenging, but it’s also been really rewarding and has helped me grow more confident in speaking the language. I’ve really seen the Lord working through my relationships with both the full-time staff and the summer team.
Today, we went on a prayer walk and visited the woman we met last year who has no legs. She remembered me, and I got to pray for her and her family. That was such a special moment and a reminder of how God continues to work through the relationships we build. I’m so thankful to be back serving alongside these amazing people. Please keep praying for this team and the work they are doing!
