One question I have been continuously asked as this project has come to an end is “what has been your favorite part or memory?” However, when you spend two weeks in a place that is so drastically different from where you typically live, it is hard to pick only one.

Some of the moments I immediately go back to are the ones with all the people on my site. I was very nervous going into this project because I really didn’t know anyone who would be working with me in the Quinigua clinic well at all. Although, after just my first day it was evident that God had put me exactly where I needed to be.

One thing God has shown me is that He always answers prayers in the perfect timing. After the first week in the clinic, I found myself asking, “God, what is your purpose for me here?” Despite the fact that I knew the clinic was the place for me, I had a hard time because there weren’t as many patients as I had thought there would be. Over the weekend, not only did I have time to reflect, but I was also able to pray about it with my team. The next morning, there were 7 patients, which was more than we had the week before! After that morning, I had a perspective shift, and knew that no matter what happened the rest of the week I would be at peace with it. God had provided and worked in my heart at the perfect timing, and I realized that afternoon what my purpose here was: serving graciously in whatever way God needed me to.

So in conclusion, these two weeks are ones I will never forget, and the memories I made are ones I will cherish forever. No matter if we are all laughing at a dumb joke, or having a more serious conversation about something we have witnessed here, I am so grateful to have gotten to be a part of how God has worked.
