REY DIAZ

After a surprising uneventful traveling day where every single aspect from Dan Johnston transportation to RIC Airport to connection flights were as scheduled and planned, we arrived to busyness of Guatemala City.

This morning we had the great privilege to wake up to the sound of birds and roosters at the crack of dawn at Doña Rafa’s house. Our host blessed us with “tortillas” and other delicious treats as we prepared to walk to the Students International base.

It was day of training and exposure to the realities of the people of “Magdalena de Milpas Altas”. A community in the mountains of Guatemala surrounded by beautiful mountains and Volcanoes, and yes I said volcanos in plural. This community has some palpable needs and like every single one of us, the biggest need is Christ.

Students International (SI) has been planting the seed of the Gospel and loving this community with actions since 1994, and many are the testimonies of the Grace of God.

Tomorrow will start with full force serving on the assigned sites, therefore please pray for strength and a servant heart.
