Melinda Batalias
Today we began our second conference with a new group of men and women. Micah taught the men Galatians 1 – 3 and Michael taught the men about biblical leadership.
Dawn, Melinda, Cindy, and Misty taught on the Ten Commandments. Cindy also kept the women active with a game of “Never have I ever” and a coloring sheet. The women at both conferences absolutely loved the coloring sheet. Many of the women had never colored before. The men went past as the women were playing “Never have I ever” and they stood and watched their wives smiling and laughing. The men looked happy and pleased to see their wives enjoying themselves. It was so sweet to witness. As we studied the first five commandments, we would pause to pray at the end. It is obvious that the women pray often and for extended periods of time.
Our lunch was rice, chicken curry, and some vegetables in broth. We also had curd to help cut the heat of the curry. We have been eating every lunch as a local – with our hands. Dinner this evening was at a local family restaurant. We enjoyed local Indian dishes that, though very spicy (HOT!), were delicious,
As we were preparing for the logistics of the day we are facing tomorrow, we lamented having to leave our friends here. Tony, Pastor Steeven, Dorothy, and Jessica have been such wonderful hosts and have helped us by translating and relating to the men and women. It has been such an overwhelming treat to experience the love of Christ here. Thank you to all who have been praying and supporting us. Please pray for our safe travels as we head back to RVA on Saturday. I’ll be heading home, but a little piece of my heart remains here in India.
