SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
- Take a few extra moments to read, or at least scan over Matthew 14:36 – 15:46. How do these sections and parables relate to our focus at hand today (Matthew 25:14-30)? How do and what themes tie them together? What different focuses rise to the top?
- In verses 14-30 who do each of the characters represent?
- What does this parable say about God’s distribution of gifts/talents (verse 15)? Generally, what does the modern reader do with that information?
- Why is the wicked servant called wicked? How does that servant respond and why do you think he responds that way?
- Take some time to think, and be transparent with others…what are some talents/gifts/opportunities that you have been given that maybe you have ‘buried in the ground’? What are some specific ways that you (and others in this group helping you) can begin to faithfully use those for God’s glory and His kingdom work?
- On your own, take some time to write down a list of talents/gifts/opportunities that God has given to you. ‘Every gift comes from above’ so take some time this week to specifically thank God for those and surrender them again to Him and His glory.
- Spend the remainder of your time praying together for the application of what you have studied today.
