Read Colossians 2:6-7
-What verbs does Paul use in these verses?
-What is the connection between how we first accepted Jesus and how we are supposed to walk in Him?
-What mix of metaphors does Paul use here? What do these different pictures communicate about the Christian life?
-What does it mean to be established in the faith? How does one go about moving from a shaky faith to an established one? Do you have any personal experiences from either side to share?
-Paul makes an intentional focus on “abounding in thanksgiving”. Why do you think a lifestyle of gratitude is so closely tied to being rooted and established?
-How is acknowledging Christ Jesus the Lord critical to walking in Him?
-Where are your roots currently growing? Think about your choices, daily life, calendar, draft statements, etc.
-When the stress of life hits you, what is your typical default mode response(s)? What are some specific practical ways that you can ‘walk in Him’ amidst the chaos and the storm to redirect/reset?
