Ephesians 4:25-32
1. Make a list of the sins mentioned in this passage. What do you observe about how they are described? (Answer: He lists the negative and the positive for each).
2. Why do you think Paul chose these specific sins for this passage? (Answer: they all have a significant impact on community/the body functioning together. They all pertain to relationships).
3. Which of these sins have you seen particularly impact your own family, the church, community group, or other community?
4. What happens when we let the sun go down on our anger and let it continue to linger or grow?
5. How do you typically try to go about dealing with your anger or bitterness? What is the difference between healthy anger and sinful, damaging anger?
6. At the end of the passage, how does Paul help us forgive those who have hurt us?
7. What might be preventing us from more fully experiencing the forgiveness of Christ and offering it to others? When do you find it easy to forgive and when do you find it incredibly difficult to forgive others?
8. What principles from these verses can reshape our thinking around Christian community? How might our own community group begin to be more aligned with the gospel? Spend some time praying that God would allow this in the coming months.
