Yesterday was a day of logistical, cultural, and spiritual orientation. It began with Will guiding us from our lodgings to his house on foot and by train. Nobody got lost. After we arrived and greeted the family, Will and Jessica taught us about their MJTW team, it’s church plant, and some of the challenges it faces.
After the presentation, we all headed off to visit Skytree, our second lesson in getting around this huge city by train. At Skytree, we enjoyed the amazing, 360 degree view, some genuine Japanese cuisine, rubbing elbows with thousands of locals and tourists from all over., and a little shopping.
After Skytree, we shifted to Sensō-ji, one of Tokyo’s oldest and most famous shrines. As we watched many people practice their faith, Will helped us understand the set up of the shrine and what all was going on there. It was all very interesting and sad. Will is a very good and passionate teacher.
After a little more shopping, we went to the city center for dinner, successfully traversing the world-famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing twice without death or reportable injury.
We learned much and we thank God for the work and witness of our patrners in this city.
