JEANNIE TABB

Thank you for praying!   God is answering all our prayers one by one! The American team arrived Warsaw on time with all their luggage. All the bags fit in the van – we had two extra with supplies so that was a concern. Our border crossing was 1 1/2 hours, not too bad.  We had a great dinner with the five Ukrainian volunteer Cru leaders, Saturday night. Sunday we attended the church that is hosting our English Club. We were invited to share and they prayed for us. Sunday evening, we had pizza with all the 20 English Club student volunteers. This is the second EC this team has done – one last April- so they know what to do. They are very organized.  What a joy to see how God is raising up young people with a heart to reach their fellow students!

There were 100 students registered and we prayed that God would bring the right number of students because the rooms in the church are small with limited seating.  Last night, the first night, around 52 students plus 20 volunteers came so it was a great number. There were get acquainted activities and new words and idioms. The Bible lesson was about Bartemaeus, the Blind man with a lot of discussion.  We say it is a good lesson when students don’t want to leave.  In the beginner class they were laughing and talking when I finally said,”ok, see you tomorrow!”

Ostroh is population 15,000, one university, so there isn’t much to do.  EC is a big attraction. The weather has even warmed up – it will be in the 40’s, even 50 one day and sunny. So people are willing and able (even eager) to come out, even in the evenings.

Starting Tuesday afternoon, we invite students to sign up to meet one on one with an American where we each share our Life Maps – a great way to go deep quickly.   A volunteer joins each meeting, so they are ready to continue the relationships when we leave. Students are busy with classes, so pray they will have time and be brave to meet with us.

It has been an amazing first few days already.  Thanks for praying with us.
