These past two weeks I’ve been working at the Facilities and Maintenance Site along with Mike White, a youth pastor named Gavin Pantella from the Florida team, and Luke Yoder, who is a full time missionary here in the DR with his family of seven. Our job is to support all of the outreach sites by fixing, building, and running errands for things to make their lives easier. I’ve learned a lot throughout this time: plumbing, patching drywall, installing fans, concrete, painting, and much more through deep conversations from the wiser men on my site. Luke is one of the funniest guys I have met without even trying. He is a great leader of our site and knows a lot of handy things. It is going to be bitter sweet re-entering back into my normal life. This place, and these people have really changed me and mean a ton to me.
