Today we completed our first two-day Pastor and Wives’ Training Conference. For me, it was an unexpected blessing. Plans for teaching chapters of Galatians changed into a long course on the overarching theme of covenants in scripture. Many of us in the USA with a reformed background take for granted our theological lenses, such as the covenants of works or the new covenant of grace. These are ways of understanding God’s revelation which our new Indian pastor friends have never heard before.
Aside from that, we spent time as an entire group. Dawn and I have learned the rhythm of one of their more familiar hymns; though I’m not sure we could tell you a single word.
