KIRA AUSTIN: Today was our second day at English Gospel Camp. I had the opportunity to play the role of Naomi and share the Bible story about my friendship with Ruth. Through the story I shared how Naomi’s faith was renewed and her heart was changed through her friendship with Ruth.

ELISE MACKEY: What a fantastic and exciting day! Today the SPC Tokyo 2025 Mission Team and the MTW team at Setagaya Grace Church finally welcomed 35 children, from 1st through 5th grades, to our ‘friendship’ themed Gospel Camp. After much anticipation, preparation, and prayer, putting up the decorations in the hall and seeing the kids start to arrive was almost surreal.

MARYN RAY: Today was our first day of Gospel English Camp at Setagaya Grace Church. Though we have had an incredible past couple days developing relationships with our missionary partners and learning more about Japanese culture, Gospel Camp is the real reason for our long journey here.

JENNIE RAY: Deuteronomy 31:8 says “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

JOHN HILE: Stopping to reflect on the day is not easy. I told Mr B that I would contribute to the report for today. That was this morning when we were fresh. Now, late in the evening, it is more difficult to put the thoughts together. We have been busy meeting, moving about, getting to know the local mission team, and seeing the people of Tokyo.

ISAAC WHEAT: Today the Tokyo 2025 Mission Team and Setagaya Grace Church staff met together at one of their houses. This was great for making and building relationships all around.

Yesterday was a day of logistical, cultural, and spiritual orientation. It began with Will guiding us from our lodgings to his house on foot and by train. Nobody got lost. After we arrived and greeted the family, Will and Jessica taught us about their MJTW team, it's church plant, and some of the challenges it faces.
