Missions: Updates

Guatemala 2026 Mission Project ~ 5/30/26

Gabriela Nicole Díaz-Avellaneda: A day at the Education Site is pretty special. We usually have two classes a day—one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Because the Education Site specifically serves elementary-aged children, the kids are small, energetic, and loud!

REY DIAZ: A new week has come, and with it, the opportunity to extend grace. After our customary breakfast time with Doña Rafaela, we headed to the Students International (SI) base for a quiet time in the scriptures, corporate worship, and a devotional. After an intentional time of worship, we headed to our work sites. Today, I’m back with the Sponsorship Team.

TANIA M. DIAZ: On Sunday, we had the opportunity to visit a bilingual church in the town of Antigua. It was truly a blessing to worship and receive the teaching of God’s word in a different setting than we are used to. Afterward, we grabbed lunch and enjoyed some free time exploring the town before heading back to our host family's house around 7:00 PM.

NATALIA M. DIAZ AVELLANEDA: Today was our second full day doing site ministries. The day started around sunrise - 5:30. We ate  breakfast with our host, Señora Rafaela.  She made us some breakfast, which is always delicious. After we were done with breakfast we finished getting ready and headed to the Plaza. We then met up with the rest of the people that came this week from the US:  a group of six from Crown College and one individual. We all walked together to the Community Center, which is a breathtaking experience, both from the view and hills.
