Homework Helpers
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14

For many years, we have been praying and looking for opportunities to serve the families of Suburban Village, a mobile home park in Bon Air. Then, as an answer to those prayers, Homework Helpers came to us at SPC to ask for help. It is our privilege to help this ministry and this community. Serving these students for many years, Homework Helpers has built a great reputation in our community.
WHAT HOMEWORK HELPERS IS & WHAT IT DOES.
Homework Helpers is an after-school ministry designed to help and encourage elementary students by caring for them and helping them with their homework. Most years, Homework Helpers at SPC serves about fifty children each week. Fifty high school students donate an hour after school each week to tutor and mentor these kids. Our role is to provide snacks, love, and programing for these elementary students at SPC while they wait for their high school tutors to arrive.
WHEN?
Most Mondays and/or Tuesdays from 2:15 to 3:30 PM. We run two eight-week segments, one in the fall/winter and another in the winter/spring.
