September 3 - October 22 (8 weeks) | 9:45 AM | Room 206 | Mental health issues are far more common than many of us think. Statistics suggest that one in six people will have experienced a mental health struggle in the past week. That means there are many at SPC who need us to show compassion and respond with biblical wisdom. In this class, we will delve into topics like anxiety, depression, and self-harm in youth and adults; challenging family dynamics, divorce, and forgiveness; addiction and codependency; as well as abuse and trauma. The goal of this class is to equip us all to play our part in making sure that SPC is a church where mental health conditions are welcomed, understood, nurtured, and supported. Teachers: Janice Bilger & Alec Kean
September 3 - November 26 | 9:45 AM | Fellowship Hall | The second half of Acts reveals how the God of history expanded His church to men and women beyond the geographic, cultural, and ethnic boundaries of Judaism through the work of the Apostle Paul. It is a thrilling account of the mighty works of the Holy Spirit, the joys of suffering, and the overturning of the world by the gospel. The story amazes and challenges us to a more robust commitment to Jesus. Teacher: Greg Brooks.

Teachers: Kelly Givens, Andrea Kean, LaNette Montgomery
June 4 - August 20 | We will study the common themes and links between books of the Old Testament focused on wisdom for practical living and mastering the difficult challenges of life. We will pay close attention to the problems of suffering and maintaining faith in the face of evil. In just twelve weeks we will tour Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Job, and Song of Solomon. Our emphasis will be on Biblical insights that are more easily seen across these books than just from within them. Teacher: Mark Bilger
April 2 - May 28 | Acts may be called the second volume of Luke. Luke described the wonderful works of Jesus before his ascension in the gospel that bears his name, then wrote a second volume to describe the works of Jesus after his ascension. Acts is the story of the beginning of the church and the manifestation of how Jesus works in his people now that he sits enthroned in heaven.
